Description
Bonderite S-MA 522 Aero, known as Turco Form Mask 522, is a liquid synthetic-rubber coating that dries to a tough, non-porous, strippable film. Henkel lists good chemical resistance to semi-aqueous cleaners and to alkaline and acidic baths without strong oxidants, but the film is not resistant to solvents. Once cured it is peeled off by hand.
The manufacturer describes it for protecting bright and clad steel, aluminium, titanium and magnesium against mechanical damage during forming, metal bonding, transport and storage, and as a masking coat in alkaline and weakly acid chemical treatments.

Henkel states that the cured film can be pulled off by hand like a plastic sheet. It should be applied in several layers to a dry film of 125 to 200 µm so that it forms a non-porous coat that strips cleanly.
How long does Bonderite S-MA 522 Aero take to dry?
It is air-drying. Henkel recommends at least 60 minutes between brushed layers and at least 4 hours of cure after the final layer before the film is stressed. Oven drying for 30 minutes at 80 to 100 °C can follow a 15 to 20 minute flash-off.
