Frequently asked
Why is Inconel lockwire used instead of stainless steel?
Nickel alloy wire such as Inconel 600 keeps its strength and resists oxidation at higher temperatures, so it is used where the maintenance manual calls for it, often in engine hot sections.
Can lockwire be reused?
No. Safety wire is removed and discarded, and new wire is installed each time.
