Description
PR 1200 Primer Clear is a clear primer from Dow, applied to clean substrates before silicone sealants, adhesives or rubbers so they bond reliably. It is a bonding aid rather than a paint. Confirm the substrates it suits and the drying time from Dow's data sheet before applying the silicone.

Frequently asked
When is a primer needed under a silicone product?
When the silicone's data sheet calls for one on that substrate, or adhesion tests show it does not bond well enough unprimed.
Can a silicone primer be used under non-silicone sealants?
It is intended for silicone products. For other sealant chemistries, use the primer or adhesion promoter their data sheet specifies.
