When is a primer needed under a silicone product?
When the silicone's data sheet calls for one on that substrate, or adhesion tests show it does not bond well enough unprimed.
Can a silicone primer be used under non-silicone sealants?
It is intended for silicone products. For other sealant chemistries, use the primer or adhesion promoter their data sheet specifies.
