Description

3M masking film 50989 is a translucent, purple high-density polyethylene film with a caliper of 16.50 microns. Its underside is treated to reduce moisture imprinting or ghosting on masked paintwork, and its top surface is treated so overspray adheres rather than flakes. 3M gives resistance to 120°C for 1 hour, allowing IR-lamp and oven drying.

The manufacturer describes it for masking vehicles during refinish work; it can be repositioned around tape without tearing and is easy to cut around body contours.
