Frequently asked
What is polyurethane protective tape used for on aircraft?
It is applied over forward-facing edges, radomes, rotor blades and other exposed surfaces to protect paint and structure from erosion by rain, sand and debris. The aircraft or component manual sets out where it may be used.
Does the liner type matter when ordering?
Yes. The release liner affects how the tape is handled while it is positioned. Order the liner type your process or drawing calls for; 3M's literature describes the options.
