An FAA-STC'd chip detector system for Sikorsky S-76 helicopters with Turbomeca Arriel engines that works with the existing engine chip detector(s) and aircraft wiring. When ferrous wear debris bridges a chip detector gap and lights the caution/advisory (or IIDS) indicator, the pilot can pulse the two-channel Power Module to burn off harmless slivers of wear fuzz, while genuinely large, failure-associated particles are not cleared and remain flagged. A built-in chip-detector test switch confirms the existing detector circuit is working.
