Bonderite C-IC Deoxidizer 6MU Aero is Henkel's make-up liquid for the process formerly sold as Turco Deoxidizer 6/16. The red liquid is not used alone: it is added to dilute nitric acid or dilute sulfuric acid to build a production bath that removes oxides and alkaline residues from aluminium and its alloys.
Distributor literature describes it for deoxidizing, desmutting or acid-etching aluminium after alkaline cleaning or etching. The nitric acid bath suits most work; the sulfuric acid bath is suggested for aluminium to be spot welded. A separate replenisher maintains the bath.
