Description
Cor-Ban 22 is a chromate-free corrosion inhibiting compound based on the Cor-Ban 27L formula, made highly penetrating so it reaches faying surfaces. The reddish-brown film is soft, self-healing, water-displacing and solvent-removable. Zip-Chem reports more than 4000 hours of ASTM B-117 salt spray on steel at a 1 mil (25 micron) film, with no flaking down to -60°F (-51°C).
The manufacturer describes it for already-corroded areas, internal steel bores of pivot shafts and landing gear bogies, and unprimed landing gear hardware, applied by airless or air spray or aerosol. Paste form is Cor-Ban 27L.
