Description
B102A, sold as Pellical, is a strippable white contrast paint that dries quickly and has high opacity. Applied to ferromagnetic metals before magnetic particle inspection, it improves the visibility of any black magnetic detecting medium. On smooth surfaces the film peels away after inspection much like wallpaper, so no solvent stripping is needed.
The manufacturer describes it for magnetic particle testing with black magnetic inks, applied at about 30 µm; thicker coats cause defects and reduce inspection sensitivity. B105 or N120 may be used to degrease beforehand.
