Description
OIL-GLO ULTRA is a concentrated UV fluorescent leak-detection dye for synthetic and petroleum-based fluids. Filtered to 2 microns, it is fully miscible and non-particulate, and the manufacturer states it does not change the viscosity or lubricity of the host fluid. Five fluorescence colours are offered so different oil systems can be told apart.
The manufacturer describes it for closed-loop systems running oil-based fluids, such as hydraulic, compressor, engine and gearbox oil, as part of diagnostic or preventive maintenance to find small, intermittent or multiple leaks.
