Specifications

| Material | Semi water-based glycerinated gel |
Description
SG1 is a translucent pink couplant gel for ultrasonic testing, made on a semi water-based, glycerinated formula that the manufacturer describes as biodegradable. It clings to the part whatever its orientation and transmits sound well even on greasy or poorly degreased surfaces. The normal working range is 0°C to 50°C; above that the gel progressively liquefies.
The manufacturer describes it for ultrasonic inspection over large surfaces. It is not corrosive to metals and does not affect paints, plastics or rubber, but should not be used on composites before repair.

What temperature range does SG1 gel work in?
The manufacturer gives a normal working range of 0°C to 50°C. Above 50°C the gel gradually liquefies, so it loses its cling on vertical or overhead surfaces.
Can I get the technical and safety data sheets?
