Description

HM-440 is a surfactant-based fluorescent penetrant classified Type 1, Method A, Level 2 (medium sensitivity). A water tolerance of 50% makes it suited to wash lines where water contamination is a concern. The green liquid fluoresces yellow-green, meets low sulfur and low halogen requirements, and has a flash point of 230°F (110°C).

The manufacturer describes it for castings, extrusions and similar parts, including aluminium and magnesium. A dye-free HM-440.NY version is offered for pre-inspection ahead of HM-440 final inspection.
