Description
Desothane HS CA8300 is a high-durability, high-solids gloss polyurethane topcoat from PPG Aerospace. PPG lists low VOC, chemical agent resistance (C.A.R.C.), strong UV durability and resistance to Skydrol hydraulic fluid, with a service range of -55°C to 150°C. Gloss exceeds 85 units at 60°, from a 35-45 µm dry film.
The manufacturer describes it as an internal topcoat for aircraft structural components and an external topcoat for military aircraft and land-based defence equipment. It goes over primers to Def Stan 80-206, Def Stan 80-207, BS2X33 A & B or MIL-PRF-23377.
