Description
Desothane HS CA8311 is a high-durability, high-solids matt polyurethane topcoat from PPG Aerospace. PPG lists low VOC, chemical agent resistance (C.A.R.C.), UV durability and resistance to Skydrol hydraulic fluid, with a service range of -55°C to 150°C. It mixes 3:1 by volume with CA8310B activator and dries to below 5 gloss units.
The manufacturer describes it as an internal topcoat for aircraft structural components and an external topcoat for military aircraft and land-based defence equipment. It can be used in PPG's military selectively strippable scheme.
