Description
Topcoat FR2-55 is a three-component, water-based, flexible polyurethane topcoat for aircraft cabin interiors, available in matte, extra matte and semi-gloss. Base, FR2-55 hardener and water mix 100:20:15–30 by weight for spraying. The matte data sheet lists VOC of 50 g/L (ISO 11890-1), a pot life of 2 hours at 23 °C, and smooth to coarse texture options.
The manufacturer describes it for passenger cabin interiors on phenolic and plastic composites and aluminium, over FR1-55, FR4-45, FRS30 or FR-P1K primers, with high resistance to cleaning agents.

AkzoNobel's matte data sheet places FR2-55 among its fire retardant finishes for cabin interiors and states it meets JAR/FAR Part 25 §25.853 (a), (c/d). The manufacturer notes customer specification requirements apply where they differ from the data sheet.
Which primers are used under FR2-55?
AkzoNobel lists FR2-55 as compatible with FR-M1K and FR-Preprime and with cabin interior primers FR-P1K, FR1-55, FR4-45 or FRS30. On aluminium, the data sheet calls for a surface treatment plus an epoxy corrosion-resistant primer first.
