Description
RTV 6708 is a single-component silicone supplied ready to apply, vulcanising at room temperature on exposure to atmospheric moisture. Cured, it forms a resilient rubber that seals joints and penetrations against moisture, dust and vibration while accommodating movement between dissimilar materials. It fits general sealing and formed-in-place gasketing on assemblies where a mixed or heat-cured system is impractical.

Does RTV 6708 require mixing or heat cure?
No. It is a one-part material that cures once exposed to air, so there is no mixing step, no pot life to manage and no oven. Cure conditions and their effect on the cure are described in the manufacturer datasheet.
How thick a section can be sealed in one pass?
Moisture cure advances from the exposed surface inward, so thick or enclosed sections take considerably longer to cure through and are better built up in passes. Refer to the datasheet for depth-of-cure guidance.
