Description
RTV560 is a red two-part condensation-cure silicone formulated to remain serviceable at both low and high temperature extremes, rather than being optimised for one end of the range. It is used for sealing, bonding and potting on assemblies that see wide thermal excursions, and it cures at room temperature to a medium-hardness rubber with useful tear resistance. Referenced against ASTM E595, with catalyst options available.

What is the difference between RTV560 and RTV566?
RTV566 is the low-outgassing member of the same wide-temperature red family and is the grade to specify where volatile condensable material is a concern, such as optical or vacuum-facing hardware. RTV566 is supplied with a single specified catalyst, while RTV560 offers catalyst options, so RTV560 gives more process flexibility where low outgassing is not the driver.
Will RTV560 cure in a thick, confined section?
Yes. Two-part condensation cure is driven by the catalyst mixed into the base, not by atmospheric moisture, so cure proceeds through the bulk and this grade can be used in deep pours and closed cavities. Cure by-product still needs a path out of the assembly, so vent thick sections where practical.
