Description
PR-1440 M Class B is a two-part, manganese dioxide cured polysulfide fuel tank sealant from PPG Aerospace. Mixed, it forms a low-sag thixotropic paste that cures at room temperature without shrinkage. PPG rates it from -55°C to 135°C with intermittent excursions to 180°C, and the B-2 grade gives 2 hours of application life.
The manufacturer describes it for fillet sealing of aircraft integral fuel tanks and other fuselage sealing. PPG reports peel adhesion over bare alclad aluminium and over PAC 33 and PU 66 coatings, and resistance to jet fuel, aviation gas and phosphoric ester hydraulic fluids.
