Description
RTV 112 is a one-component silicone that cures with atmospheric moisture and flows out under its own weight to a smooth, level surface before curing to a flexible elastomer. That self-levelling behaviour makes it the practical choice for horizontal joints, seams, deck penetrations and shallow recesses where you want a continuous seal without tooling the bead by hand. It is referenced against MIL-A-46106B.

Can RTV 112 be used on vertical or overhead joints?
No — it is formulated to flow and level, so it will run out of a vertical or overhead joint before it skins. Use a non-slump paste grade such as RTV106 for those orientations and keep RTV 112 for horizontal and near-horizontal work.
How is RTV 112 different from RTV106 apart from flow?
Both are one-part condensation-cure silicones referenced against MIL-A-46106B and both cure from the exposed surface inward with ambient humidity. The difference that drives selection is rheology and positioning: RTV 112 is self-levelling for horizontal sealing, while RTV106 is a non-slump red paste intended for higher-temperature bonding and gasketing where the bead has to hold its shape.
