Description
RTV31 is a red, heavily filled two-part condensation-cure silicone that pours and self-levels before curing at room temperature to a firm, high-hardness elastomer. It is used for potting, encapsulation and sealing on assemblies that see sustained high service temperatures, where a rigid, dimensionally stable rubber body is preferred over a soft one. The grade is referenced against ASTM E595 and is offered with catalyst options for adjusting cure behaviour to the process.

How do I choose between RTV31 and RTV60?
Both are red, flowable, high-temperature condensation-cure grades with the same nominal work life. RTV31 cures noticeably harder and is the choice where a firm, rigid potting body is wanted; RTV60 is a softer rubber with higher tensile and tear strength, which suits joints that see movement, vibration or thermal cycling strain.
