Description
Desoprime HS CA7049 is a three-component, chromate-free epoxy primer from PPG Aerospace for exterior aircraft surfaces. PPG lists corrosion inhibition, high solids with low VOC, strong adhesion and fluid resistance, and a service range of -55°C to 177°C. It mixes 3.5:1:1 by volume and is applied at 20-30 microns dry film.
The manufacturer describes it for protecting exterior aircraft surfaces and as a refresh primer over basic primers, under polyurethane or epoxy topcoats. PPG notes it can go over composites, aluminium prepared with DesoGel EAP-9, and chromic acid anodise.
