Description
Bonderite M-CR 1200 AERO is a powdered chromate conversion coating chemical. Dissolved in water, the room-temperature bath forms a coating from light iridescent gold to tan on aluminium and its alloys that limits corrosion and improves paint adhesion. Henkel gives bath make-up of 7.5 to 15 kg per 1,000 L, pH 1.6 to 2.1 and 1 to 5 minutes contact.
The manufacturer describes it for immersion, spray or brush treatment of cleaned and deoxidised aluminium, leaving parts ready for use painted or unpainted. Henkel states it is on the MIL-DTL-81706 QPL for Method C immersion Class 1A and 3 coatings.
